This one just wasn't for me. I'm not going to rate it or review it since I didn't finish it, I don't think that's fair. There were several reasons why I decided this was a DNF for me. 1) The author is over descriptive to me. I like getting a great visual from what I'm reading, but this one just feels...boring. She is so descriptive about what her characters are feeling, doing, seeing... and normally that is not a bad thing. It just doesn't relate to me at all and slowed things down. 2) The author's language. I believe the author is British and she keeps with the British speak. While I have no issues with that at all, I have read several other books from British authors that integrated their tongue into ours and loved them, she is hard for me to read & understand. 3) I think the Fifty Shades era is getting old for me now. There are so many titles similar to that storyline that I just can't read it anymore. That being said, eventually I may pick it back up but for now its just isn't for me. It's probably a great book for others and I don't want to discourage anyone from reading The Silver Chain and giving it a try... it just wasn't for me.
I wanted to say thank you to Kimberly of Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviews for giving me great advice on handling this one. It was a pretty new situation for me and I really appreciate the help and advice!
