Lengths - Steph Campbell, Liz Reinhardt
Lengths is the first Steph Campbell book I've read and I really enjoyed it. It was also a collaboration novel with Liz Reinhardt. It was very well written, it never once gave that fact away. Except for the cover. Their writing meshed really well. It was also a really cute story. I liked Deo, he was a laid back and charismatic. I liked that he had his own set of issues that weren't crazy extreme. They were realistic. Whit was also a good character. Her problems were realistic, but she was dramatic about them. She was extreme about her reactions to things. I thought that what was going with her, what had her thrashing in her sleep and keeping the people around her at arms length, was more extreme than what it actually was. I mean it was something that made complete sense just not what I was expecting. Good on one level, but kind of a bummer on another. Whit reacted so strongly to what had happened I just thought it was going to really, really bad. It was sad and I understood her misery and did appreciate her intensity. To an extent. I did beth a little upset and annoyed with how she treated Deo. Not letting him in, but letting select others in. It made me mad at time and I got frustrated with her. Deo had his issues and yes she took those rightfully into consideration, but she just cut herself off. I'm trying not to give anything away here...
Overall, Lengths was a good read and a very cute story. I adored how it turned out and would reccommend it to others for sure.
